(1888PressRelease) Dan Cross, Founder and CEO of Athlete Connections, heads to Houston for NBA All-Star Weekend to participate as a camp director for the “Kids Get Fit” Community Basketball Clinic.

Orlando, FL – Dan Cross, Founder and CEO of Athlete Connections, will participate in NBA All-Star on February 15-16th in Houston, TX. Cross is a Camp Director for the “Kids Get Fit,” basketball clinic hosted by the National Basketball Retired Players Association (NBRPA).

Cross was initially contacted to participate in this event due to his involvement in Athlete Connections Foundation, a youth service program that is designed to utilize sports to teach kids life skills. During both days of the camp, Cross will work directly with the campers, teaching them various drills and skills, as well as participating in the camp’s eleven basketball stations. Students throughout Houston were pre-selected from various community-based organizations and invited to participate in the clinic to learn the fundamentals of basketball and life skills from legendary members of the NBRPA.

“I am excited for the opportunity to give back to the community by developing students to empower them to reach their highest academic and athletic potential through the game of basketball,” said Cross. “I have always been passionate about basketball and enjoy the chance to help youth pursue their passion for the sport, as well as encourage students through a positive outlet.”

In 2006, Cross founded Athlete Connections, an organization designed to enhance youth sports by providing programs that teach life skills in preparation for life and a career after sports. Athlete Connections provides career solutions for athletes who end their athletic careers unprepared for careers outside of sports. In addition, Cross founded Athlete Connections Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing youth with positive influences through sports activities.
