WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Following his playing days at the University of Florida, basketball star Dan Cross played overseas for nearly a decade.
Although, not every student-athlete is as fortunate as Cross.
For 99% of collegiate football and basketball players, their on-field careers will end after school.
“What’s next is the ultimate question for a lot of student athletes that are transitioning from sports to life after sport,” said Cross.
Dan’s basketball career wrapped up in 2005.
Like so many other players before him, he had no idea what to do next.
“I decided to do something about it,” said Cross. “I decided to create a service that would prepare student athletes for life after sports.”
That service is Athlete Connections .
It’s a business designed to help athletes land jobs in the real world following graduation. Athlete Connections has been around for six years and it’s absolutely free for universities and students.
“My experiences and my emotions, the highs and lows and the adversities and the accomplishments…..all the above….have caused me to want to make an impact on life,” said Cross.
